My work, informed by 20 years of practice and training in a variety of approaches, helps people explore and work through habitual patterns, self-beliefs or an unexpected crisis.

I support clients to treat themselves with compassion rather than judgment.

I obtained my MSW from NYU Silver School in 2004, training in New York City agencies that provided care to individuals and families experiencing serious mental illnesses and limited access to care.  I have practiced both in the United States, as well as abroad in New Zealand/Aotearoa working as a clinical leader in dual diagnosis (mental health/substance abuse) care.

A bit of background…

My Professional Background

My practice style is best described as eclectic.  I was trained and have a strong background in attachment based psychodynamic practices. I continue to be dedicated to my clinical knowledge having completed extensive post-graduate training in areas such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to name a few. However, the main framework I increasingly draw from in my practice is Internal Family Systems (IFS)/Parts Work. I truly believe IFS heals in a way few therapeutic interventions do and I am in the process of becoming officially trained in IFS with a goal of moving towards certification. My work is rooted in mind/body techniques to support healing through a trauma informed lens. In the office, you will find my style to be warm, conversational and engaged.  I am deeply committed to supporting those clients living on the margins of our society. My practice is an active space of decolonization. To this end, if ever a client does not find my style or approach right for them, I work tirelessly to support the discovery of a therapist who is.
